A current and historical look at antipsychiatric theory and practice. What is antipsychiatry? What is its critique of psychiatry and psychology and is it still relevant? What are the intersectional intersections? The lecture will present the core statements of the works of Ronald D. Laing, David Cooper, Franco Basaglia, Thomas Szasz, the anti-psychiatric movement since the 1980s, with a focus on the history of the Weglaufhaus as an anti-psychiatric project, as well as on current anti-psychiatric discourses that focus on the expansion of the influence of the psychiatric system.
